For ultimate stability, nothing but a tripod will do. However, there are times when the use of a tripod is not practical or allowed.
A monopod offers excellent stability when working with long telephoto lenses and makes a difference in low-light situations. Monopods are easy to carry, can be set up instantly and are ideal when you are working in tight spaces.
You've seen sports photographers on the sidelines with huge telephoto lenses - they are given small spaces to shoot from and often need to quickly move from place to place. Only a monopod will do the job! And SIRUI offers a full family of monopods for any shooting situation.
When you need a monopod for compact cameras and camcorders, the SIRUI P-204 and P-224 monopods are excellent choices. They fold down to only 55 cm (21.7 in.) but are able to be opened to 170 cm (66.9 in).
The legendary SIRUI P-306 and P-326 monopods are our most popular monopods - with good reason!. They have 6 sections that extend to 156 cm (61.4 in.) when fully opened, yet, are only 39.5 cm (15.6 in.) when closed - small enough to fit in a backpack or photo bag! When you first handle these monopods, you will be amazed at their light weight and truly impressed by their stability. Thanks to the use of superior materials and precision manufacturing, SIRUI has created an extremely portable 6-section monopod with the strength and stability usually associated with 3 or 4-section monopods!
When you need to support the weight of large DSLRs with big telephoto lenses, look no further than the SIRUI P-324 monopod. This impressive 4-section, 8 layer 100% Carbon Fiber monopod extends to 169 cm (66.5 in.)/ and closes to 55 cm (21.7 in.).
By adding three support feet on the bottom of the SIRUI Photo/Video monopods, you achieve greater stability and flexibility. The long feet are designed to be stepped on - ensuring that the monopod stays in place.
To tilt the monopod 20° in any direction, SIRUI utilizes a precision ball head mechanism in the base of the monopod. Control the amount of drag that you need by turning the tension control knob. To restrict movement (no tilting) twist the vertical locking collar and turn it into a monopod with support feet*. (Not for use as a free-standing support.)
The support feet can fold flush and lock into position against the monopod leg. The large silicon foot lets you work on slippery surfaces and can be replaced with a stainless steel spike for use outdoors (P-SR Series only).
If you don't need the feet, you can easily unscrew them and convert the SIRUI P-SR Photo/video monopod into a conventional monopod. And for added flexibility, the feet can be used as a table-top or low angle tripod!
The SIRUI designed and patented 360° panning hand grip produces smooth, pro-level panning effects. It's foam padded for a comfortable feel and secure hold in cold or wet conditions. If you don't need the panning function, simply tighten the locking collar.
SIRUI Photo/video monopods are equally at home with photo and video equipment. If you need to get your equipment up high or want an unusual perspective, you can, thanks to the lightweight design!! For fast connect/disconnect, you can add the SIRUI VH-90 Video Quick Release Platform.
